2018 Squad Announcement

Dear Doctors,

After careful consideration, watching 6-7 hours of football at the trial and reviewing hours of video footage, Dean Ugrinic has chosen the final squad selection and list of shadow players to be called upon if players do not accept or become injured. It has indeed been a very difficult task to place on any coach and especially this year given the massive influx of new talent.

The committee will shortly announce the dates for the 3 camps which will be held between February and May and the final tournament will be 30th June in Prague.

A massive thanks to all previous Docceroos who have contributed to past campaigns who may not be with us again for 2018. It will be very sad to see some top blokes depart us. Welcome to previous returning participants and of course to several new players for this year.

We would appreciate your email acceptance of a squad position or shadow position and we appreciate that this may be subject to gaining holidays. It is an absolute expectation that if selected you will attend ALL camps and be playing regular competitive football.

Lastly, thanks to everyone who participated in the trials 2 weeks ago. It is so refreshing to see so many new faces and the wealth of talent on show and we encourage everyone back again next year.

Australian National Football Championship & Docceroos Trial Weekend

Do you want to join the Docceroos for 2018?

The Docceroos State of Origin and National Trials for 2018 will be held on 11/12 November 2017.

We are looking for talented soccer players (who also hold a medical degree) to join our 2018 campaign to Prague, Czech Republic.

Gold Coast Knights Football Club
181 Nerang Broadbeach Rd
Cararra, QLD

Saturday: 12 midday kickoff until 530 pm Evening meal: Buffet provided by Gold Coast Knights FC 6 pm ($20)
Sunday: 9 AM until 1230 pm. Lunch at the bar, cost as required.

Subject to numbers, the usual Saturday format is a round robin between Queensland, NSW and Victoria
Sunday will be a series of games run by the coach for the purpose of selection and is optional for those not interested in selection.

Eligibility requirements: Must hold a current medical degree AND age over 25 years (at June 30, 2018)

Registration fee: $20 in cash on the day with all profits to be donated to Cancer Council Australia

Master Docceroos
Dr Steven Doherty will be running the trials for the Masters Team and there will be a separate field running in conjunction. Register using the below link above.
